Keystone Exams – Depth of Knowledge and Cognitive Complexity

To gain a deeper understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) and cognitive complexity of items on Keystone Exams, educators may access this document that provides an in-depth explanation of the Keystone Exam item review process for each tested area in terms of whether items align with the cognitive level or DOK of the Assessment Anchor as defined by the Eligible Content.  Sample Keystone items and a comparison of Bloom’s Taxonomy to DOK are included for each assessed area.
