Citizen Curriculum Contest

8/29/2010

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, PennCORD, and the National Constitution Center invite Pennsylvania educators of grades K-12 to participate in the Citizen Curriculum Contest by submitting their outstanding civics classroom lesson plans. Lesson plans should engage students in developing a deeper understanding of citizenship and how government works and be framed around the rights and responsibilities of citizenship as detailed in the PA Academic Standards. The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and an all expense paid trip to the Constitution Center for his/her class.

To submit your lesson plan or to read more about the contest, please visit the Civics Professional Learning Community in the My Communities section of the SAS Portal, or read the contest overview document:  Citizenship Curriculum Contest.doc.
