Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons

Activities

  1. Solve for xx + 12 = 22

  2. Solve for aa x 6 = 18
  1. Sophia bought 112 bottles of water.  There are sixteen bottles of water in a case.  Write an equation that can be used to find the number of cases, c, Sophia bought.

  2. Amir works a set number of hours, h, each day, Monday through Friday.  On Thursday he worked four extra hours.  This week he worked a total of 34 hours.  Write an equation that can be used to find how many hours a day he works.
  1. Eileen bought 4 bags of twenty-five balloons and another bag of helium balloons.  If Eileen ended up with a total of 130 balloons, how many helium balloons, b, were in the bag?  Write and solve an equation.
