- Even numbers can be broken into pairs.
- If you already have all numbers paired, when you combine them, they are all still paired.
- Odd + Odd = Even
Explanations may include, but are not limited to:
- Odd numbers can be broken into pairs, but will always have one left over that won’t pair
- If you combine two odd numbers, the left over from each will end up pairing so everything will have a pair and is therefore even
- Even + Odd = Odd
Explanations may include, but are not limited to:
- Even numbers are all paired up
- Odd numbers can be broken into pairs, but will always have one left over that won’t pair
- If you combine one even and one odd, there will still be one left over from the odd that will not pair with anything, and is therefore odd
