Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons
  • Questions/activities that grow in complexity
  • Opportunities for differentiation for each student’s level of performance

  1. Even + Even = Even
    Explanations may include, but are not limited to:
  • Even numbers can be broken into pairs.
  • If you already have all numbers paired, when you combine them, they are all still paired.
  1. Odd + Odd = Even
    Explanations may include, but are not limited to:
  • Odd numbers can be broken into pairs, but will always have one left over that won’t pair
  • If you combine two odd numbers, the left over from each will end up pairing so everything will have a pair and is therefore even
  1. Even + Odd = Odd
    Explanations may include, but are not limited to:
  • Even numbers are all paired up
  • Odd numbers can be broken into pairs, but will always have one left over that won’t pair
  • If you combine one even and one odd, there will still be one left over from the odd that will not pair with anything, and is therefore odd
