Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons

  1. What time would be twenty minutes after the time shown on the clock below?

  

  1. What time would be thirty minutes prior to the time shown on the clock below?

  1. Brandon began his test when the time was what is on the clock shown below.  He was told to finish as much as he could in 15 minutes.  What time does Brandon have to stop working?  Draw what Brandon should be looking for on the clock.  Explain.

  1. Miguel’s soccer game starts at 2:00.  The team is required to arrive for warm-ups an hour early.  If it takes him twenty-five minutes to drive to the game, what time should he leave?  Show/explain your work.
  1. The clocks from two different time zones are shown below.  Based on this information, if it is 2:30 pm in Pennsylvania, what time would it be in California?  Explain.
