Continuum of Activities

The probability that you will get a green marble is 0%. Student work might include but is not limited to,

Find the total probability of the marbles that are already in the bag.

The current marbles in the bag take up 100% of the bag, so the chance of getting a green marble is 0% because you can’t have more than 100%.

Student answers will vary, some examples are given below,

Part A)

Player A has a better chance of winning compared with player B. Player B has picked a sum of 10 but the highest number on both spinners is 4. That mean the highest sum that you can get is 4+4 = 8. It is impossible for player B to ever will the game with a sum greater than 10 picked.

Part B)

The range of numbers that you should pick are 2-8. Reason might include but are not limited to,

The smallest number on each spinner is 1 so the lowest sum you can spin is 1 + 1 = 2
The largest number on each spinner is 4 so that largest sum you can spin is 4 + 4 = 8
