Accessing Project Based Assessment Released Projects The links below provide access to projects utilized in the 2013 Project Based Assessment field test. These projects are available as PDF files. Remember that actual projects are accessed and completed online. These projects are available as a practice resource and as models of Project Based Assessments. Each module of the Keystone Exams for the content areas assessed will have one PBA available each year. New projects will be implemented each year – again with one project per module for each content area. If you will be employing these released projects to model the actual PBA process with students, keep in mind that a tutor provides remediation/ supplemental instruction related to the Assessment Anchor/Eligible Content (AA/EC) for the module in which the student is completing a project. The tutor may identify specific project related AA/EC for which the student requires instruction; however, no direct assistance on the actual project may be provided.
Understanding Project Design Project Based Assessments are built around the following specifications:
A project is designed to be completed within a 5-7 hour timeframe although it is not a timed test. Students may have as much time as they need to complete the work.
Project based assessments are module specific and are tied to as many AA/EC as is reasonable to create a cohesive project.
Projects reflect Webb’s Depth of Knowledge of the Keystone Exams: Level 2 and 3.
Projects include multiple tasks with checkpoints at the end of each task. (When working online, students must submit their work for approval by the Tutor before moving onto the next task.)
Information, data, and other resources to complete the project are included in the project itself.
Released projects are listed below. Click on the link to download a project.
