Description

Students are taught that knowledge of how a dictionary is organized helps them to locate and spell words. They are taught to listen to the beginning sound first, and then listen to the other sounds in the word. They learn that a dictionary is organized in alphabetical order, with a beginning, middle, and ending section. They are taught to try other letters that make the same sound. This lesson is appropriate for students in grades 2-3.This Lesson is appropriate for grade level(s) 2
