After learning and repeating numerous nursery rhymes, children will use a familiar nursery rhyme such as "Humpty Dumpty,"
or "Jack and Jill"
that will require them to supply a rhyming word to complete a revised version.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

Humpty Dumpty sat on a chair
Humpty Dumpty jumped in the air
Humpty Dumpty sat on a bed
Humpty Dumpty bumped his head
The teacher will list the "new" rhymes on a chart. Children will have opportunities to role play the actions of the original and revised rhymes.
Children can also draw pictures to illustrate the rhymes.
The student will be able to give appropriate rhyming words to complete the nursery rhymes.
