Welcome to the home for Pennsylvania's Standards Aligned Systems in Environment & Ecology!

The Declaration of Rights, Article 1 of the Pennsylvania Constitution states “The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and aesthetic values of the environment.”

Environment and Ecology is a very engaging academic area that captivates students’ innate interests in their surroundings of the natural and built environment. The skills and knowledge that are addressed in this area will serve as tools for student participation in a democratic world of constantly evolving issues and concerns.

The field of environment allows student to be active participants and problem solvers in real issues that are grounded in the complexity of the world we live in and our impact these issues have on home, school, community and beyond. It is critical for every student to be aware of his/her dependence on a healthy environment as we move into a more technologically driven society.
