Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:

- Define classify.
- Identify one trait you could classify a human by.
- Classify the following animals: alligator, duck, turtle, shark, chicken, clown fish, snake, penguin, and puffer fish
- Compare and contrast a turtle and a dolphin. Classify them based on a similarity and a difference.
- “Dogs and cats are different, but they are also alike.” Develop a logical argument as to why this is true.
- Critique the following statement: “A squirrel is a mammal and a frog is an amphibian, therefore there is no way to classify them by their similarities.”
