Additional Notes
As an extension, change the color word at the bottom of the card to black print. This will require children to use print cues only to complete the puzzles.
Description
Children will associate a color with the corresponding color word.
After reading various books about the colors, make a set of "puzzle cards." Each card should contain a picture, that represents a color, on the top part of the card and the corresponding color word, written in that color, on the bottom part of the card. (For example: A red apple and the color word red) Each card should be cut in a different puzzle-like fashion. The child will match the correct color picture with its corresponding color word. A correct match will make a completed puzzle.
