Description
This Learning Styles Inventory is a free, self administered test that students can take that will provide a Myers-Briggs result. It is the first website in the Resource section. Students should get a copy of the scoring summary, printed off by the teacher and then answer the questions. The teacher can then explain to students how to score the results and what the results mean. The Personality Page (the second website in the Resource Section) does a nice job in identifying what each of the results mean and gives the student a "title" based on the score from their assessment. Both websites are good resources to obtain a Myers Briggs/Jung type score.
Rationale
The student should take the inventory and then, using the Personality Page, connect their results to a specific career area. The specific careers can be found at the third link under the resources section.

Content Provider or Additional Information
The Paragon Learning Style Inventory (PLSI) is a self-administered survey that provides a very reliable indication of learning style and cognitive preference. It uses the four Jungian dimensions (i.e, introversion/ extroversion, intuition/sensation, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving) that are also used by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Murphy Meisgeir Type Indicator, and the Keirsey-Bates Temperament Sorter. But, this is the only instrument that can be self-scored and works with ages 9-adult. This site provides the 48-item general version. To obtain both the 52-item revised student or 52-item adult versions, please select the order link and follow the directions. The Personality Page is much more student oriented doing a nice job explaining code. An additional assessment can be purchased for a fee. |
