Instructional Procedures

Class 1 - In a live session with the students review the basic difference between eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells. The introduce the various parts of a common eukaryoic cell - the cell organelles.

Hand out the Cells Alive worksheet.

The stduents work independently to complete the worksheet.

Completed worksheets are hadned in and graded for correctness.

Class 2 - Teacher reviews the major organelles introduced in the Cells Alive worksheet. Class discusses the functions of each organelle and compares them to parts of the community. An analogical model is drawn on the board.
