Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:

- Technology is defined as the use of science knowledge to invent tools and new ways of doing things.
- Different modes of transportation include, but are not limited to: planes, automobiles, trains, bicycles, boats, tractors, skateboard, walking, etc.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- Communication of the past includes writing letters and telegrams.
- Past communication was not instant and it took longer to communicate.
- Communication of the present happens instantly.
- Current communication includes things like making phone calls, sending emails, and video chat.
- We can get energy from the sun, wind, water, and burning of fossil fuels.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- Technology has changed transportation by creating new inventions that help us transport more efficiently.
- Technology has made it easier and more cost efficient to get from place to place.
- Examples are inventions of cars, planes, and trains. All three inventions have made transportation easier and more affordable.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- Humans should recycle because it helps protect our environment.
- There are non-renewable resources on Earth, which means that those resources can run out.
- It is important to reuse and recycle because it helps save the planet.
