Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons
  • Questions/activities that grow in complexity
  • Opportunities for differentiation for each student’s level of performance

Answer Key/Rubric

  1. Student will identify different types of multimedia components and visual displays most often used in presentations.  These include charts, graphs, videos, images, among others.  Students will recognize the value of presenting information in different formats, which help make information clearer to an audience.

  2. Student will classify multimedia components and visual displays to determine which are best for their claims, findings, or salient points. For example, data may be displayed in charts for organizational purposes.  A video may be helpful to reinforce claims.  Images may be powerful in telling more of the story.

  3. Student will carefully consider the multimedia components and visual displays he/she may wish to use in his/her presentation.  Graphics that include statistics, footage from events that support claims, quotes from important people, tables with data – students will analyze which they might use to fully and clearly enhance their presentation and will integrate this into a presentation.
