2021 Pennsylvania Computer Science For All – PA Summit June 21-25, 2021

4/14/2021

The Pennsylvania Department of Education is pleased to announce its fourth annual  CSforALL-PA Summit.  The CSforALL-PA Summit offers educators, leaders, and stakeholders the opportunity to share, discuss, and collaboratively develop tools, resources, and practices for CS learning experiences. The Summit specifically focuses on equitably serving historically under-served populations including students with disabilities, English Learners, and females. The theme for 2021, CS Celebrations, honors how educators across the commonwealth created, adapted, and expanded CS learning opportunities throughout a year of change.

Summit sessions will be offered in these formats:

  1. Pre-recorded presentation with asynchronous engagement via discussion board
  2. Pre-recorded presentation with discussion board, plus a live Q&A session via Zoom

Six hours of Act 48 credit is available to attendees who participate in a minimum of 6 sessions of their choice as evidenced by engagement in Schoology discussion boards. Partial credit will not be offered. The Schoology course will remain accessible beyond the end of the Summit; however; Act 48 credit will not be given for any activity completed after June 25th.

As outlined in Governor Wolf’s PASmart initiative, most good paying jobs in Pennsylvania, and across the country, over the next decade will require some form of education or training in the fields of Computer Science (CS) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). To help meet this demand, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Governor Wolf and Acting Secretary of Education Ortega, is working to create and expand access to computer science learning for all.
