Celebrate Black History Month – Poem/Dance Contest
You are invited to celebrate Black History Month with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Multi-Agency Black History Month Committee. The national theme for Black History Month 2023 is Black Resistance, which focuses on African Americans resistance to historic racism, and discrimination in all forms including statutory, employment, education, housing, economic, faith, sports, culture, etc. since America’s initial beginnings.
In observance of this year’s theme, the Committee will be hosting a Poem or Dance Contest among high school students to emphasize Black Resistance. A winner will be selected from each of the categories. Each winner will receive a prize and will be formally recognized at the event.
