Guiding the Way: School Counselors on Career Readiness

A new national Britebound–ASCA study surveyed 600 K–12 counselors to understand how they support students in developing career readiness. Findings highlight differences in how counselors define “readiness,” variations in access to career exploration tools, and increasing interest in supporting pathways beyond four year colleges. Counselors across grade levels emphasized the importance of postsecondary awareness, skill identification, and early exploration to ensure students make informed choices.
